Bulletin Mumm Cordon Roudge Photographic Award 1990
At the age of 16 years, in 1972, I sought out the company of our First Nation’s People. I had the opportunity to visit Kowanyama and I took portraits of the people I met. I used my photography and camera as a way of getting close to the people I had so much admiration and respect for. I also returned in the 1990s, later in my photography career where I purposely set out to give the people respect and to honor them with beautiful portraits of their elders.
